Growing up in Rwanda, I witnessed firsthand the challenges our healthcare system faced—long queues at clinics, misplaced patient records, and delayed diagnoses. These experiences ignited a passion in me to find solutions that could bridge the gap between healthcare and technology.
After completing my secondary education, I pursued a degree in Information Technology. During my studies, I was introduced to the field of health informatics—a discipline that combines healthcare, information technology, and data analysis to improve patient care. This revelation was a turning point; I realized I could contribute to transforming our healthcare system by ensuring that accurate information is available when and where it's needed.
I enrolled in specialized courses and certifications in health informatics, focusing on electronic health records, data management, and health information systems. Interning at a local hospital, I worked on digitizing patient records, which significantly reduced waiting times and improved the accuracy of diagnoses.
Today, as a health informatician, I collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop systems that enhance patient care, streamline operations, and facilitate data-driven decisions. My journey underscores the impact of merging technology with healthcare and serves as a testament to the difference one can make with dedication and the right skill set
